Love it for my child saves alot of room with the bottom cabinetThe packaging is good. Very few dings and scratches, nothing major. The load bearing components are solid wood ( not single pieces - I could see the zig zag patterns of wood joinery at many places). I think they are rubber wood with the finish you order ( I got oak). The sides and bottom of the drawers, the top of drawer chest and the covering for footboard are MDF The Hardware screws/bolts are pretty sturdy - but no extras except for a couple of wooden small screws. The bolts/screws are neatly packaged in numbered bags. If you can, open packaging in garage or outside to avoid the styrofoam bits spreading around the home. The sliding components could have been better - cheap plastic and some sheet metal. Assembly was time consuming ( because of the 6 drawers), but the main frame was a breeze. The fitting after full assembly is very good.I got this for 3 year old, but the bed sits pretty high - the first thing she did was use the drawer fronts as steps to climb the bed :( Repeated usage like that might damage the drawers - I plan to push the drawer chest atleast 3 inches inside to discourage the kid from climbing on the drawers. The kid jumped on the bed and there were no creaking sounds. The slats are plywood planks - looked strong with a good flex.Overall, pretty good for the money. There is formaldehyde emission certification in case you are worried about buying for kid's room. My main concern is the width and thickness of the side plank - will update if anything breaks with an active 3 year olds usage. Overall, good buy. This bed is pretty high, so be ready to climb into bed. I love how pretty it is. It took about two and a half hours to put it together.Bought 2 of these which arrived in good condition (a couple of dings which did not show once put together). The color was more orange than shown in the picture. This took me approximately 6 hours to put the 2 beds together not including the drawers. It would have quicker if all pieces had been marked with the letters used in the instructions. I could not figure out the drawers and know it would have taken me days just to put one set together. Thankfully my brother-in-law put them together and it took him about 4 hours to put the 2 sets together. I tried to put the twin mattresses from our old beds on these new beds but one was too large to fit and the other one snugly fit meaning it is a little more difficult to make the bed. This was for our nephews bedroom and he really liked the beds. It is adequate for a child's needs and would be fine in a guest room.I had to bring my sister in law over to put them together over to help assemble but mostly just because I don't have a lot of experience in assembling furniture. We did 2 beds in a few hours with minimal headache. The only dislike I have is that the bottom half of the bed where the drawers are is not connected to the actual bed itself and I'm going to have to go purchase something to get it to not move on the tile floor. You do have to look at the picture and colors of the bed frames if you want a headboard. I believe the products only come as pictured. I have the espresso and it has a headboard.I had purchased this bed and it arrived June 10th. I felt putting it together was easy enough (I had a broken wrist and still managed to do it by myself, took maybe an hour or two) and was rather excited about it, its just the right size for my room, and the drawers are super helpful for me to store things away from a mischievous cat. The natural finish on it looks fine as well. It didn't seem like it was made from super high quality parts, but I figured you get what you pay for and function is all that really matters for me when dealing with cheaper frames.Well here it is Aug 26th about 2 and a half months later and the back/side frame has broken basically directly in the middle. It should be no surprise to me, but it was. I noted that the back (the side you would put against a wall as it is open) didn't have a leg but felt with the slats in, it surely must be ok because the company wouldn't make something with such an obvious weak point, so it must be strong enough.I cannot emphasize enough that the bed had 100% normal, non crazy use. There was no plopping down or crazy animals or kids jumping around it, nothing. I am not tiny (6' 1" 240lbs male) but all I was doing was sitting at the front edge tonight, I went to scoot myself toward the back wall like any normal person would and it snapped in two. I will have to try to screw a piece of wood or 2 back there to act as a brace to keep it working until I find out if there is any kind of warranty or replacement possible.I am giving this frame 1 star for now, if I can manage to get a replacement piece (which if I add a leg/support to would actually make the bed function properly) I will consider changing the score. But as it stands right now, I would be very weary of purchasing this without any guarantee it or the broken part will be replaced should the bed do the same to you (it will). This is a very good twin bed. If you are getting this bed for a toddler you might want to get a step and a guard rail as well as it is very tall. Also be careful when tightening screws when building it some of the wood is soft and over tightening can lead to it cracking or the screw going straight through.
