VOCOlinc RGBIC WiFi LED Strip Lights 16.4ft - Smart HomeKit, Alexa, Google Assistant - Music Sync for Bedroom & Room Decor

Was suppose to recieve 50% off, so I bought 2. Amazon only honored one being 50% off. Which I would never pay $35.99 for one, when I can get a lot more footage for a lot less money. Rehung them 3 times since hanging them yesterday, on approved surface. Used extra double sided tape. They still dont stay up, so now I have wire ties all over the place holding them up. Amazon did nothing to assist me but the seller did make things right in a very fast manner. I will buy things I need from them again.The function and feature of these lights is top notch. Sadly the adhesive backing is weaker than dirty scotch tape. Definitely make sure you have 3M Command strips or some other method of mounting the led strip.The adhesive doesn’t work well and I had to use thumb tacks. They lights are nice and work well with apple homekit. However to use the smart light features you must turn on your phone mic. Even for the displays that don’t need it. Even with the app closed it still runs your phone mic.These are really good for the price (being homekit compatible.) But with it being a cheaper strip color accuracy isn’t the best and they aren’t as bright as some of the other optionsI bought these lights to put on the back of my monitors in my work area. They seem to be pretty nice lights, the LEDs produce nice whites and work through the color range. The set works well with Homekit which is why I bought them.The bad: I cleaned my monitors with alcohol before securing them and they lasted one night before falling off. Now the tape is useless and will not stick. I recommend removing the tape that comes on the LEDs and replace with something better if you do buy these.The app is simple but effective once you figure it out. The lights can do almost any pattern imaginable and dance to music. I got them for my bar and so far I love them.I love the this light strip, great light, good response to command/remote control. But it is so unfortunate that the sticker cannot adhere at all.Keep your box! I had some issues with mine and ended up factory resetting them. However, when i tried to reconnect them to my vocolinc app and my HomeKit it would not connect without a 8 digit code that I did not have.I contacted Vocolinc and gave them the SN on my box and they were able to give me the 8 digit code. Without my box I would have been dead in the water. Keep the box or at least keep the serial number safe somewhere.Claims to be "Segmented DIY" like the top competing brand is. This is false!While there are pre-programed color multi color segmented options, they are pre-programmed, NOT DIY! Worse, most don't even make sense: the christmas option is green red & yellow... YELLOW? Really? since when is yellow a xmas color?In addition, there is no true fading between colors... or "chasing" colors - as they demonstrate in their video - all of the self programmed options (of which none include segmented color selecting!) cause abrupt switching between colors. Definitely not as implied by their advertising.If you are looking for a cheap alternative that is a true diy segmented light strip - these simply aren't it! The options at the moment are either paying less for regular RGB light strips or paying more for the truly customizable, but honestly advertised, option.I had ordered 3 sets of these to upgrade my existing LED setup - all 3 are being returned as I can't even create a decent christmas or halloween color scheme. Highly disappointed. (and now I see why so many are available on Amazon Warehouse deals!)Wanted to have special lighting in the bathroom because I like to take long expansive baths. This is sooooo nice. Easy to install but maybe you’re better off sticking them with Alien Tape instead of using the double sided included tape. Works perfectly with Apple HomeKit (although you can’t have the lighting effects you get when using VOCOlinc app which works good on my iPhone. Great buy.Tried multiple wifi networks, followed the exact router settings and app options with no luck connecting via iPhone XS. Frustrating… I returned it.My problem with these LED lights is that they dont stick whatsoever to the wall. The glue is very cheap/
