Like these shoes - they are easy to slip on, and feel stable. Unlike running shoes, there are no ledges on the sole to trip on or get caught on stairs, and so I feel safer wearing these. They are flat like Converse, with a comfortable foam insert. If you need arch support, you might want to replace the inserts with something more supportive.On size, I have wide feet but the choices seem to be between E and 6E. The E size is not very wide at all (had to return), and the 6E's are nowhere near that wide but fit me fine. In real terms, I'm a EE but I've found that manufacturers are all over the map on how they measure wide.Lengthwise, sizes are pretty accurate. I ordered a half size longer so they would be easy to slip on and off.
