They will be strong enough for the loads I will impose on them using my chosen correct fasteners. The included stainless steel oval head wood screws are tiny and seem to be just “show display” type screws that would not hold tight enough against a strong pulling load. These may indeed be 316 Stainless Steel alloy because the cleats and the fasteners were non-magnetic when tested with a strong magnet. These Horn Cleats are world wide common design of rope grab points used mostly in boating applications. I do not have a dock or a boat. I am going to use these on my next homemade Deer Carrier vehicle receiver mount cargo carrier. The short bend down ends are a clever way to terminate the bar rather that the more common dull pointed horn tips. I am going to buy another set of these to have enough rope grab points for an efficient crisscross rope cargo tie down.
